Children are the most vulnerable group in any population due to their large number, high mortality, morbidity, growth and development, resource, accessibility etc. One of the major causes of mortality, and prevalence during this age group is acute gastroenteritis. The modern management of acute diarrheal illness emphasizes on oral rehydration and early feeding. Such single methods of management open the prospects of involving mothers in the care of the child at home early at the onset of diarrhea. This is possible if mothers understand the significance of their prevention and treatment.
