Understanding Power in the Family

Studying family, the central unit of the society, can be taken as studying society at all. This is because of the crucial position of the family in all system levels of the society. There is not any system or institution in the society which has no connection with family. Family itself is a small society where every system operates around it. Family is a place for: Education-where members learn from one another; Economy- where production and consumption takes place; Politics- where there is power relationship among members; Religion-where members worship together; Media and communication-where members exchange information.
