The University of Birjand (Persian: ) is a university in Birjand, Iran. It was established in 1975.The University of Birjand was established in 1975 as an institute of higher education after the ratification of the 102nd session of the Council for Expansion of Higher Education in the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. UB launched its academic endeavours in the Faculty of Sciences within three departments of mathematics, physics and chemistry. In 1991, the Higher Education Institute was upgraded and renamed as the University of Birjand. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the University collaborated actively with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology for running the higher education programs in accordance with the principles set by the Cultural Revolution Committee for Universities.
