Unsteady transport of adsorbed gas through coal matrix
Details
In the late 40. of the XXth century it became obvious that without having the experimental conditions under control it may be impossible to make further progress in understanding the dangerous phenomena called sudden rock and gas outbursts. A few years later in 1953 two Russian researchers announced the first rock and gas mini-outburst carried out in laboratory conditions. Soon after them another researchers started similar experiments incorporating coal briquettes and enhancing experimental setup and procedures. Present work belongs to the same stream and concentrates on conditions leading to the coal and gas mini-outburst only. This sudden process itself is out o scope here. In particular the aim was merely to find the evidence of rapid desorption influence on these conditions (to prove or deny this popular belief) and more deeply to show the comparison of behavior of chosen pairs: gas-and-coal. This comparison delivered quite surprising results
