'Urban Hydrogenesis' provides an overview of the life cycle of pure hydrogen (H2), focusing in particular on the production, storage and use of this element. Of each item, both currently existing technologies and those in the prototype state are analyzed; the latter, although solving the critical issues of existing systems, are still in a research and development stage and are currently not efficient and cost-effective enough for global-scale trade. The branches of hydrogen use are manifold, but in this discussion only the use of the element in construction and automobiles, which are precisely the main contributors to air pollution in the urbe, will be examined.
