Urban Hydrology study in the Lower Arie Corridor
Details
Water is a vital resource with complex characteristics, whose uses have multiplied along with the economic and social development. The Lower Arie Corridor is an important multifunctional axis where geographic conditions have created favorable premises to the development of the cities. The agglomerations of the population in the urban areas have consequences on the flow of matter and energy involving transformations of landscapes and changes in the hydrological flows. We also notice insufficient information of the population about the degree of vulnerability to the waterborne risks in the urban areas. In this situation, providing the necessary water, drainage water from urban areas and water quality control become the premises of a study to offer solutions for sustainable development of the urban systems through integrated urban water management. This study should provide an overview of the Arie aisle and inform the population and the local authorities on the existing problems in the water management in the urban areas and the degree of vulnerability to the waterborne risks. Knowing these problems, solutions will be provided for ensuring water quality and for public safety.
