Urban Planning Education

Urban planning is a profession in the public sphere, and one of its goals is to improve the quality of life of citizens, especially in urban issues such as transportation, land use, and environmental benefits. Given the vast dimensions of cities and human settlements, this profession also has various dimensions, from the aesthetic dimension to the social dimension, health, and others. For this reason, it is considered a multidisciplinary or transdisciplinary profession that is related to other professions and sciences, such as sociology, geography, economics, architecture, and others. A master's degree in urban planning is a course during which graduates of this field can acquire the necessary knowledge to prepare urban development plans needed by the country and can be a suitable link between other urban development programs and oversee and monitor sustainable urban development based on approved policies and plans. The objectives of the urban planning course are as follows: To expand the knowledge and skills of urban planning in order to train knowledgeable and efficient human resources who can play a fundamental role in guiding the country's urban development.
