Usability evaluation of complex systems

Usability is a crucial factor for a wide variety of products. However, the usual examples used to describe concepts and methods of usability evaluation are often simple applications such as online shops or websites. In contrast, this book deals with more complex examples such as systems for information analysis and decision-making. Unlike simple applications, these systems have completely different characteristics and operating requirements due to their complex tasks, which also influence usability evaluation. Using the real-life example of an internal company analysis application for data from application operations, the book shows how classic evaluation methods such as usability tests and metrics can be used to measure usability and thereby achieve usability improvements.

Johanna Strutzenberger was born in Vienna in 1988 and completed her master's degree in software development at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien. Today, she heads the development department at an Austrian software company.
