Use Of Diammonium Phosphate In Lactating Buffaloes

In the diet of animals, mineral mixture plays a very important role. The ingredients supplying calcium and phosphorus form the major part of the mineral mixtures. Phosphorus is one of the costliest mineral used in the diet of animals. Its deficiency is wide spread and affects livestock production and health in many parts of the world. The commonly used calcium and phosphorus supplements are dicalcium phosphate, tricalcium phosphate and steamed bone meal. However, due to high cost and non-availability of these sources, alternative sources such as rock phosphate, super phosphate, phosphoric acid and diammonium phosphate have been tried.
