Vätternrundan (pronounced vet-turn-rund-an) is a bicycle recreational ride around Lake Vättern in Sweden which is held in mid-June every year. The distance is 300 km, with start and finish in the town of Motala. It is the largest cycling event in the world. (Measured in number of participants multiplied by length of event). Approximately 25% of the participants come from outside Sweden and in 2009 35 nations were represented on the course. For the 2010 event registration is limited to a maximum of 20,000 participants.
