VERB COMPLEMENTS IN DAWRO-A DESCRIPTIVE APROACH

The research was conducted on Dawro, an Omotic Language which is spoken in southwestern part of the Ethiopia. The objective of the research is to describe the verb complement of Dawro. The research is divided into three chapters. The main body of the paper contains phrasal clausal verb complements. Verb complements are divided into type one, type two and type three depending on the complement they take for the sake of analysis. Clausal complements are also divided into subject complement and object complement. Finally conclusionis drawn.

The author joined Dilla University in December 2001 and graduated with B.Ed. Degree in Amharic in July 2005 and graduated with M.A. degree in Linguistics from Addis Ababa University in 2010. Currently, he is a lecturer in the department of Languages, journalism and communication, Aksum University.
