Vernacular Landscape Urbanism

"Vernacular Landscape Urbanism," is a new yet trendy concept that is derived from studying all the individual components of it (Vernacular Design, Landscape Design and Urbanism) in order to justify it as a tool for urban regeneration, especially in developing countries. This study is carried out on the basis of personal observation of the negative impact of fast development and overpopulation in India. Therefore, derived principles of the concept are tested on slum site for its suitability for urban regeneration. This study acknowledges the importance and future prospects of "Vernacular Landscape Urbanism." Moreover, it concludes it as a valid and logical approach in terms of urban regeneration.
