This book exposes the painful truth that abuse and exploitation can occur within faith communities, often at the hands of trusted leaders. Spiritual predators manipulate religious teachings and authority to exploit others, leaving deep wounds in individuals and congregations. Their actions are frequently enabled by silence, misplaced loyalty, fear of scandal, confusing leadership structures, and misuse of scripture. Survivors who speak out are frequently dismissed or blamed, worsening their trauma. Despite these obstacles, courageous survivors, whistleblowers, and reformers are driving change-calling communities to confront abuse, support victims, and reform leadership and policies. The book offers practical guidance on prevention, transparent leadership, and survivor support. It addresses forgiveness and justice, insisting that healing and trust come only through prioritizing safety and holding abusers accountable. Ultimately, it calls faith communities to become sanctuaries of honesty, compassion, and safety, embodying their highest spiritual values through transparency and care for the vulnerable.
