VHDL Implementation of Motion Estimation and Composition
Details
Recent decades have seen significant advances in Algorithm and Architecture for processing of image, video and audio signals. New algorithms techniques have evolved to reduce the size of video and audio data. Such methods are very useful in numerous applications that manipulate, transmit and store large amount of digital data. The process of size reduction is called as compression process. The primary element of many video computation techniques is motion estimation. This technique takes advantage of the temporal redundancy between adjacent frames which together form a video sequence. Motion estimation consumes major part of computational efforts and cost. In this simulation effort, we calculate the motion vector of the image. The given image is converted into the binary form and the data is used as an input. By using Four step algorithm we implemented the Motion Estimation which results in reduced computational efforts time and cost wise.
