Nanotechnologies have many possible applications in areas such as advanced materials and nanocomposites. Nanotubes represent one of the research directions within the context of nanotechnology to advance development in this designated horizontal sector. The similarity of the chemical character of halloysite and kaolin, combined with unique characteristics sets it in a potentially preferable position to be used in applications like gas separation. These result in desired characteristics, such as water molecules existing in a monolayer that separates unit layers in halloysite and its larger inner cavity, which can accommodate a broad range of molecules sizes, spanning from light gas to protein molecules
