Violence Begets Violence
Details
There have been numerous reports of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) youth who are the victims of race-based victimization in San Francisco Bay Area schools. The purpose of this study was to determine how researchers, community stakeholders, and policy advocates implement policy addressing this issue. The research question posed in this study is, What are policy solutions to address the high rates of victimization among API youth in San Francisco Bay Area schools? Findings show that a multi-level approach is necessary to address this issue facing API youth. In light of the massacre at Virginia Tech, this study shows that API youth are capable of being both victims and perpetrators of violence. This is a must-read book for researchers, policy makers, and practictioners who work with API youth.
