Violence & British Drama from 1956 to 1960
Details
Time in our world has travelled a lot from 'what' to 'so what' and now it is leading toward 'empathy crisis' where we lack to see the things from someone else's perspective. Thoughtful dramatists after the second world war, were less interested in the plight of soldiers but in throwing a search light on collapsed human values, human relationships and moral and social problems and fractured line of disillusioned reality. The second world war was undoubtedly, the consequences of Hitler's rising in power and his insatiable hunger for more power.Depression, exertion and frustration were the new and only theme for literature. Materialistic values have left man bewildered and disillusioned, confused to find any faith or develop a philosophy of life. The twentieth century man suffers from existential anxiety and agony, clashes and conflicts, tension and trepidation, feeling of isolation and loneliness, loss of identity, feeling of futility and dilemma of life generated complex consequences and determine complete collapsible hum drum situation.
