High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Walmer Bridge is a small village in Lancashire, England in-between Preston and Southport. Surrounding villages are Much Hoole, Little Hoole and Longton.Walmer Bridge was once home to a large working mill which was working during the early 1900s. The site where the mill once was is now council estates and some retiring apartments. The West Lancashire Railway also used to run through some parts of the village. Little Hoole primary school which is situated in the village was situated elsewhere before its current location down Dob Lane. This location was on the corner of School Street. The school was opened here in the 1930s before it was moved to its current location in the 1950s.
