This book analyzes the symbols in the graphic novel Watchmen, by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, based on Peirce's second trichotomy of signs and his semiotic approach. Four symbols were chosen that appear recurrently in the story: the smile, the Rorschach mask, the hydrogen atom and the doomsday clock.
