Countries exert their maximum effort to improve the well being of their citizens. Food insecurity is the major problem in developing countries. Even the middle income countries, although they are self sufficient, they might not ensure the food security situation of every household. These countries have to select the appropriate approach of implementing programmes that ultimately ensure food security of every household. Watershed Management Development Approach is the best approach in countries where their natural resource is depleted. This approach initially focuses in improving the natural resource base and eventually supports the livelihoods of the rural poor. This has confirmed by this work taking the basic indicators of food security, such as production, income and asset ownership, and so on. This work thoroughly analysis the impact of this watershed development approach in improving household food security, and should be useful to policy makers, practitioners, NGOs and so on to enable them select the appropriate approach in implementing their programmes.
