Watershed development programmes in Kerala: A gender perspective

The present book is based on a study conducted by the author in the two panchayaths of Kerala. The study was undertaken to find out the efficacy of the watershed development programmes in Kerala with respect to its diffusion into the society and in particular women. The book will give a overall image of watershed development programmes that are being implemented at the panchayath levels. It particularly focus on watershed development programme under the Panchayathi Raj system. The grassroots level developmental programmes are being implemented more effectively by the local self government than the governmental departments. The study intends to give the varying pictures of the watershed programmes pertaining to Kerala.

The author is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in the subject agricultural extension. She has completed her graduation and masters programme from the Kerala Agricultural University.
