Wayne Robert Ellington Jr. (born October 29, 1987 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania), is an American basketball player who was drafted 28th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association. Ellington played for the University of North Carolina from 2006 to 2009. He attended high school at The Episcopal Academy, an Inter-Ac school. Ellington, 6''5" tall and 202 lbs, is a shooting guard who chose to forgo his final season of college eligibility to declare for the 2009 NBA Draft. An interesting accomplishment of Ellington''s collegiate career was scoring 19 points on his nineteenth birthday in a 98 89 win over Ohio State. His career-best performance came during a 90 88 overtime win against Clemson on January 6, 2008, in which he led all scorers with 36 points.
