In the present scenario of pharmaceuticals day by day there is an increasing demand of more active therapeutic agents. Apart from the synthetic route natural source is the major source for active therapeutic agents. In India Ayurveda provides a major information source about medicinal plants. There are number of medicinal plants in Ayurveda which are not studied yet totally.This book is presenting the details about the Pharmacognostic, Phytochemical and pharmacological studies on the leaves of Wedelia trilobata L. From literature review of Wedelia trilobata, it has been found that the plant is less exposed for its research study and is used extensively for decoration in gardens. This inspired me to select the plant and I selected leaves part for the research work. The objective of the present work is to study different Pharmacognostic parameters and to isolate different active chemical constituents present in the plant and to screen the plant extracts for various pharmacological activities.

Being a pharmacist, I like to take new challenges for the development of newer drug. Research is activity that helps me to go through the detailing about medicinal agents from various sources. Literature review of plant material gives us idea about the path on which we should move further. I always see for new things that can taken up for research.
