Weeds of course germinate along with the crop seeds, grow with crops and gradually dominate and compete for nutrients, moisture and space thus reduce yields. The reduction in labor power during these days to weed timely compelled to go for chemical weed control. However, the type of herbicides, method, time of use and dosage decides the efficiency of control of any weed. So, the purpose of this book is to provide the students, crop cultivators/ farmers, researchers and extension workers with a present information, something that they can understand on as how, when and how much quaintly of herbicides should uses to control weeds in crop stands and avoid the unnecessary loss of the same. The book has been returns on the basis of the knowledge gained in the field of weed management. The book is written as a text in very simple language with all the necessary information to tackle the weed problems in the field .We feel our work is efficient, successful and worth if this book serves the purpose for which it is written.

Dr. A.S. Channabasavanna arbeitet derzeit als Professor (Agronomie) in der Direktion für Forschung, Universität für Agrarwissenschaften, Raichur, Karnataka (Indien). Ha verfügt über eine sehr lange Forschungs- und Lehrerfahrung auf dem Gebiet der Agronomie. Er hat mehrere spezialisierte Ausbildungskurse zum Thema Unkrautbekämpfung in Feldkulturen besucht.
