Weldability of Ferritic Stainless Steel

Ferritic stainless steel is used as a cheaper substitute of austenitic stainless steel. Due to increasing application of this material its fabricating properties have also became important. In this book the weldabitity of the ferritic stainless steel have been investigated. The book covers the following topics: 1.Introduction: It covers the general introduction of stainless Steels. 2.Classifications and Phase Diagrams of Stainless Steels: It covers the standard classification of stainless steels. Different phase diagrams have also been discussed. 3.Ferritic Stainless Steels: This topic covers classification, phase diagrams and mechanical properties of ferritic stainless steels. 4.Weldability of Ferritic Stainless Steels: Under this topic different welding processes, types of filler metal, preheating, PWHT, and metallurgical characteristics have been discussed. 5.Sensitisation and Corrosion Resistance 6.State of the Art: It covers some recent investigations conducted by various researchers. 7.Application and Conclusions.

Dr. Ajai Kumar Pathak obtained his M. Tech. degree from IIT Kanpur, and Ph. D. from IIT Kharagpur in Mechanical Engineering. He served in SAIL and various academic institutions like, BITS Pilani, NIT Kurukshetra, and NIT Jamshedpur. At present he is working as an associate professor in ME Department at NIFFT, Hatia, Ranchi, India.
