Ships with excursionists can be seen and bathing guests swim happily in the shallow water on the beach. Roberto led us to our quarters on the upper floor of the villa. After we had freshened up we could explore the whole property. My son Christoph only wanted to rest in the terrace gardens until dinner. On the first early evening I dared to walk down the narrow alley to the beach. The stone stairs and walls of the house radiated a dry warmth from the summer heat. I couldn't stay long, however, because Carlo, the owner of the hotel, reserved a table in a fish restaurant for both of us at 10 p.m. The way to our hotel was exhausting on the way back. Exhausted, I first took a shower and felt like I was reborn.
