Widowhood and its challenges in urban areas

This book provides explanation of the challenges facing widows in an urban setting and their coping mechanisms. The study was carried out in Kasarani constituency in Nairobi County, Kenya and found out that 100% widows agreed that they were lonely. The 98% are faced with financial challenges and 50% of the respondents belong to a support group. The author established that they are able to share their experiences and learn on how to cope with challenges and those who do not belong to a support group expressed the need to join one. The author concludes that the widows need Counseling centers, support and acceptance from the community. This book is highly recommended for the parents, teachers, scholars and students in University.
