Willingness to Pay for Irrigation Water Use

Water is an integral part of the ecosystem, a finite natural resource and a social and economic good. With rapid economic and population growth many water sources have become depleted, therefore, now water has become a scarce good. Due to the increasing scarcity of water competition and conflicts among uses and users of water resource arise. It is therefore necessary to make decisions about conservation and allocation of water that are compatible with social objectives such as economic efficiency, sustainability and equity. Data collected from Irrigation user households were analyzed using econometric models. The information generated from this book could be used by the government organizations, policy makers, researchers and NGOs to carry out irrigation related projects.
