With Challenges & Opportunities: Practices of Paragliding in Pokhara

Tourism is a global leisure activity which helps in earning national and international currency along with good relation among the nations and their people. Paragliding which is the most demanded adventurous sport tourism is also known as nature sport. The general objective of the study is to find out the challenges and opportunities of paragliding tourism in Pokhara and the specific objectives of the study are; to analyse the present condition of paragliding tourism and to focus the current scenario of paragliding practices through some case studies. This study helps to find out the importance of paragliding tourism for tourism development and its promotion. It helps to know about paragliding and how it is proceeding along with overall tourism and people's development. This study is mainly based on primary data and information along with secondary data wherever necessary. 20 registered paragliding companies were chosen applying census method as there were only 20 registered companies till the end of 2014. 50 tandem pilots were also selected for the study. Pokhara is the 5th. top best place for paragliding in the entire world. Paragliding fills the gap of every season.
