Women Economic Empowerment Efforts in Zimbabwe
Details
This book investigated the impact of women economic empowerment programmes using the women development fund housed in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development, to women empowerment in 6 selected wards of Mutasa district in Manicaland Province as a case study. This was done in a bid to find ways that can influence development agencies and government to intervene in the fight for the empowerment of women and girls in the Johanne Marange apostolic church and ways that will stimulate and encourage further research and inquiry on ways in which the women of the church can be empowered. The research also noted that economic empowerment is a means towards gender equality and equity in the religious circle. The study therefore recommends that economic empowerment should be gender mainstreaming strategy. The study also recommends that more funding should be made available to women in the church. Finally it also recommended introducing networking groups among women including the church women.
