Women in Management: Gender Stereotypes on Successful Leadership
Details
Women in Management is to identify gender stereotypes on successful leadership and how it affects women moving up in the business world. To analyze this, theories of the glass ceiling and glass cliff phenomenon will be used further to help explain women in managerial roles. The measurements of Sandra Bem's, Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) and the Short BSRI tools will be used to help recognize these stereotypes in the workplace over decades of research. There will be a comparison of laws and acts in the workplace between the United States and Germany. This will help identify similarities and differences of women in management among the two countries. Finally, a criticism of the measurement tools and research that has been used to provide other attributes to why so few women are not reaching top level leadership.
