Women's Entrepreneurship Development in Ethiopia

The book examines the level of effectivness and impact of a civil society organization in addressing challenges of women entrepreneurs in the informal sector in Ethiopia particularly in Addis Ababa in their efforts to grow their business. In this regard, a case study of a non profit organization named Women in Self Employment was taken and its approach critically examined and compared against theories on gender and development, a study by ILO on Effectiveness of Entrepreneurship Development Interventions for Women Entrepreneurs and a study by International Center on Resarch on Business Development Services for Women Business Growth.

Ms Melat Tekletsadik Haile has 10 years of experience working on women's rights concerns in Ethiopia and other East African countries. She earned her MA in Sustainable Development in 2015 from SIT Graduate Institute in Washington DC.
