Family Planning implies not only the offer of methods and techniques for conception and contraception, but also the offer of information and monitoring, in a context of free and informed choice, with this is of fundamental importance, as it enables the client to exercise their rights, recognize contraceptive methods and make choices with autonomy. It should cover guidance on methods, as well as sexual and reproductive health. In addition, health services must have methods and techniques for the control of fertility. To this end, health services should ensure that adolescents and young people are assisted even before they begin their sexual and reproductive activity, to help them deal with their sexuality in a positive and responsible manner, encouraging preventive and self-care behaviours.
