They are known for their intense live shows and catchy stripped-down noisy punk rock. X27 is the lovely Carmen X and Rikkeh Suhtn (formerly of Duotron). Carmen has been refered to as "white Beyonce" because of her curvy figure. They are currently based in Brooklyn, NY. The name X27 comes from the film Dishonored, where Marlene Dietrich plays Agent X27 who hides code in her music. It is based on the real life character Mata Hari. X27 just want to write good catchy songs that people can dance to, much like the early punk musicians wanted. X27 also want their music to be really heavy and physical as early hardcore punk bands were. They are influenced by punk, experimental, contemporary classical, Music of North Africa, grunge, and 60''s pop.
