It was also an independent provider of direct broadcast satellite television. It was publicly traded on NASDAQ (PGTV) till 2007 then on Pink Sheets (XAND). Xanadoo operates WiMAX networks in Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois. They also have some pre-WiMAX networks & have holdings in the 2.5 GHz spectrum in many markets in the midwest. They also offer digital voice service (VoIP). Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) are Internet service providers with networks built around wireless networking. Technology may include commonplace Wi-Fi wireless mesh networking, or proprietary equipment designed to operate over open 900MHz, 2.4GHz, 4.9, 5.2, 5.4, and 5.8GHz bands or licensed frequencies in the UHF or MMDS bands.
