Rhamnetin is an O-methylated flavonol, a type of chemical compound. It can be isolated from cloves. The structure of the molecule has been discovered by Austrian chemist Josef Herzig (1853 1924). The O-methylated flavonoids or methoxyflavonoids are flavonoids with methylations on hydroxyl groups (methoxy bonds). O-methylation has an effect on the solubility of flavonoids.
