High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Xat is a Tatar rock band based in Naberezhnye Chelny. It started its career in 2001 in Sarman District of Tatarstan. The band has two albums, Yold z (The Star) (2002) and Tön bezne kötä (Night is waiting for us) (2003). Some of the earliest Tatar rock bands were Soviet bands Saq-Soq and Bolgar, as well as Ba qarma from Finland, bands active in the late 1980s. Today the most popular Tatar rock bands are Alqanat (since 2005) from Aqtan and Xat (since 2001) from Sarman. Some other popular bands are: KGB, Yar band, lsöyä Bädretdineva, smail, rhymes and 116. Traditionally, Tatar rock music has been a Tatar language version of the Russian rock. The lyrics and vocals have more importance than instrumental sounds. Other pop-rock groups include Malaylar, Yarda and Ataql Radio äxeslär.
