Foupa-Pokam is best known for his time fighting with Ultimate Fighting Championships in their middleweight division. An expert in Muay Thai, and trained by Cyrille "The Snake" Diabate (also a mixed martial arts fighter and muay thai expert), the majority of Foupa-Pokam's victories have come via knockout, but he has shown considerable improvement in his ground skills in recent fights. A significant part of his career has been spent in British MMA promotion Cage Rage. He rebounded from losses to Paul Daley and Sol Gilbert by going on a five fight winning streak, including impressive victories over Cage Rage veterans Alex Reid and Tom Watson, along with a brutal knockout of Pierre Guillet.
