The same variety of collagen fibrosis occurs in Peyronie''s disease, a contracture of the penis. Xiaflex was developed by BioSpecifics Technologies, and is produced by the Clostridium histolyticum bacteria. The drug is to be manufactured and marketed by Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
