On 30 October 2006, members of the management bought-out the leisure business from Avion Group to form XL Leisure Group. The German airline became XL Airways Germany. The new XL branding was shared by XL Airways UK and XL Airways France. In 2007, XL Airways Germany carried around 200,000 passengers.
