Voice uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), GIPS codec and the DialPad engine for voice transport. Since 2008 the service has been provided by JAJAH, an outsourced VoIP provider. The limitations imposed by packet switched networks, specially referring to the packet scheduling service (be it over a cable, over the air, etc), introduce a problematic operation since end users do not always count with last mile access networks that provide real time packet scheduling, which means a prioritized and very shortly delayed transmission of data, which is needed to the perception of a natural communication with no delays or holes.
