She is the daughter of Jorge Cafrune, another folklore singer. She currently lives in Cañuelas, a small town located in the south of Buenos Aires. He was named Yamila in honor of a hero of the revolution in Argentina. One of his two sisters is Eva Encarnación Cafrune, named for Eva Perón, wife of Juan Manuel de Rosas and a leader of the Province of Buenos Aires. The other is called Victoria, the woman's name of "Chacho" Penaloza. His brother Juan Facundo Cafrune is named after the leader Rioja Facundo Quiroga. Yamila presented his album Live in 2006. The CD has twelve songs, recorded in December 2005 in the theater Laferrere Gregory Moron. The song list is varied, including being "Your mark on me", Diego Gallo, "The finadita" of the brothers Diaz, "Road to the rodeo" by Roberto Ternan, "Juana Azurduy" Ramirez and Luna, "Father" "Heritage" and "Zamba de mi esperanza".
