Yannis Philippakis (born 23 April 1986) is a singer of the Indie band Foals. He is of Greek and Jewish descent, and studied English literature at St John''s College, Oxford, but dropped out after his first year to pursue music. In a BBC 6 hub session interview Philippakis expressed his desire to write ''Ballet with beats''. On top of this and the recording of Foals'' second album Philippakis will be working on a side project with ex Foals bandmate Andrew Mears (and ex member of Youthmovies) called ''Bins Are For Bombs'', as well as producing Mears'' solo record. Philippakis also appeared on Series 21 of BBC''s ''Never Mind The Buzzcocks'', on 24th January 2008.
