Yariv Levin (Hebrew: , born 22 June 1969) is an Israeli politician who currently serves as a member of the Knesset for Likud. During his national service, Levin worked in the IDF''s Intelligence Corps, where he was an Arabic to Hebrew translator, eventually becoming the translation course''s commander. He gained an LLB from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and worked as a lawyer in civil and commercial law. He has served as deputy chairman of the Israel Bar Association. Levin became involved in Likud politics at university, and served as vice-chairman of the party''s Hebrew University branch. He later became chairman of Likud''s Modi''in branch and a member of the party''s Central Elections Committee. Prior to the 2009 elections he was placed twenty-first on the Likud list and entered the Knesset as the party won 27 seats. He currently chairs the lobby for the Advancement of Public Transport in Israel.
