Yedilbay sheep Narynkumov

This book contains data on the status of domestic sheep breeds in the Republic and in Atyrau oblast. The characteristics of productive and biological features of Unilbay sheep are given: type, exterior, growth and development of lambs and youngsters in different age periods, slaughtering, meat and fattening qualities of lambs. Also the data on the origin of Yedlbai sheep and the methods of their breeding are given. The productive-biological qualities of the Brlik inbreed and Suindik factory types of the Unilbay sheep breed are indicated. The demand for products dictates the necessity of breeding sheep of strong constitution and high profitability of mutton production. Nowadays there is a big mass of sheep of Yedilbay sheep breed with rather high meat and greasy productivity and coarse wool. The especially important biological features of these sheep are consolidated heredity and high growth energy of lambs at a young age. A comparative study of the slaughter performance and meat qualities of the Unilbay sheep breed and the Unilbay type is given. The book is intended for researchers, zootechnicians-breeders, farmers, teachers and students of agricultural universities.
