Details

The world "Nanotechnology" caught the attention of various media and the imagination and fascination of the community at large.A novel approach of biosynthesis, Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) produced using a natural source, such as plant extracts to reduce metal ions, which are readily scalable and nontoxic compared with physical and chemical methods. ZnO-NPs are used in the preparation of substances processing medically as well as cosmetically. ZnO, due to its low toxicity is listed as "Generally Recognized as Safe" (GRAS) by the US Food and Drug Administration. Green synthesis of nanoparticles has gained significant importance in recent years and has become one of the most preferred methods. The biosynthesis of ZnO nanoparticles can be carried out using different plant extracts. In the plant-based synthesis, several plant parts viz., leaf, stem, bark, peel, flower, roots, fruit extracts can be used to generate nanoparticles. Here we tried the ZnO nanoparticles synthesis with the Sarcostemma intermedium plant stem extract.
